BFA Interior Design presents "SVAID Thesis 2018," an exhibition of thesis work by its class of 2018, curated by faculty members Anthony Lee and Gita Nandan. The exhibition will be followed by a reception from 6:00 – 8:00pm.

This exhibition represents a wide range of projects and interests. From the design of a cutting edge international document storage facility in Norway, to a luxury spa on Governor’s Island, to an adaptive re-use of a parking structure for urban agriculture to a large scale food hub, each project tackles the challenges of integrating conceptual thinking with programmatic layout, design and interior detailing to create an inspiring new place.

Participating students include: Lauren Beato, Chen Chen, Yixiang Chen, Ji Won Cho, Andreina Figueira, Lori Gianlombardo, Veronica Godoy, Qijia Guo, Runxue Guo, Anna Harea, Tinatin Kvelashvili, Maria Markelov, Yuxin Ni, Brandon Perler, Hua Tong, Qiao Zhang, Yue Zhang, Zherui Zhang and Xin Yan Zhou.

BFA Interior Design at SVA prepares students to create environments with "wow" factor that also aim to change the world. Taught by award-winning designers, architects and artists, students learn to integrate the latest technology and materials with time-tested processes and principles of design. The faculty and curriculum are guided by a commitment to sustainability, the interplay between art and design and the responsibility of design to address social issues.
