MFA Computer Arts’ Digital Art Seminar instructor Trilby Schreiber invited artist and alumnus Erwin Redl (MFA 1995 Computer Art) to speak about his recent installation Whiteout at Madison Square Park. The commissioned public art project comprises of hundreds of suspended transparent white spheres, each embedded with a discrete, white LED light and it transform the urban landscape of New York City. The students not only got to meet Erwin and learn about his projects but were also given the opportunity to experience the installation during this private tour. Erwin shared his experiences and the long process of creating such a large scale installation starting with the endless proposals to the trial and errors of constructing Whiteout.
