Ann Ellen Goodstein, MPS, ATR-BC, LCAT is an art therapist in Bellevue’s In-Patient Psychiatry Resident Training Unit. As part of a clinical team, Goodstein treats patients experiencing episodes of acute mental illness including bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, major depressive disorder along with substance abuse. Her passion for the efficacy of art therapy informs her work with art therapy interns and other trainees as well as her presentations to audiences at the AATA Conference, at NYC Health & Hospitals’ Creative Arts Therapy Conference, Bellevue Hospital’s Friday Case Conference, and other educational venues. Goodstein received her Master’s in Art Therapy from the School of Visual Arts. Ann also treats individuals in private practice, integrating art therapy with varied approaches drawn from Gestalt, CBT, Positive Psychology and Mindfulness Meditation.
