The 23rd Street Residence Hall, formerly known as New Residence, is an apartment-style residence hall reserved just for new students. The 23rd Street Residence is next door to SVA’s Main Building, which makes it very convenient to access the campus quickly. It is also connected to SVA's Student Center, where students meet for special events, club meetings, and for doing homework.

The 23rd Street Residence hall is comprised of two- and three-bedroom apartments. Two-bedroom apartments have one double room and one small double room, bathroom, and full kitchen for four students to share. Three-bedroom apartments have three double rooms, full kitchen, and two bathrooms for six students to share. Rooms are fully furnished for each student.
