Through Saturday, June 1 | MPS Fashion Photography Classes of 2023 and 2024 | One Art Space, 23 Warren Street

MPS Fashion Photography presents an exhibition of work by alumni from the classes of 2023 and 2024. In this year’s show, students explore a number of diverse and relevant themes such as life in the wake of a global pandemic, developments in technology, human identity, relationships and the role of fashion as a mirror of time and place.

Through Tuesday, June 4 | 2024 Animation Celebration Exhibition | SVA Flatiron Windows

An exhibition of posters for corresponding short films created by students in the BFA Animation class of 2024. Each year, the exhibition showcases the creativity of BFA Animation graduates who are about to embark on their careers beyond SVA. This year’s thesis films and posters explore themes such as self-acceptance, relationship woes, extraordinary creatures and many others.

Through Monday, June 3 | “What Casts a Shadow” | SVA Gramercy Gallery

An exhibition of ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture and video by SVA students selected by a jury of their peers. Exploring the connections between individuals and their environments, and the ramifications of change, both positive and negative, the work on view represents “process” as an ongoing creative endeavor. Actively grappling with their subject matter as it intersects with their lived experiences, the artists delve into the frictions inherent to evolution. Calling upon varied points of influence—pop culture, spiritual teachings and familial structures—their respective works incorporate personal histories while considering the next steps in the here and now.
