Traveling Exhibitions
SVA is committed to expanding the conversation about art and design from the classroom to New York City and beyond. In addition to its on-campus program, SVA Galleries organizes traveling and off-campus exhibitions of work by students, faculty members, and guest artists.

“Underground Images” brings together 58 of the myriad posters created at SVA for display in the vast New York City subway system, offering a glimpse of the College’s history and the collective talent of its acclaimed design and illustration faculty. The exhibition premiered at the Academy of Fine Arts, Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 2013 as part of an extended tour through Europe and Asia in 2014.
Maison de Santé Saint-Paul/Valetudo Association is a clinic in St-Remy-de-Provence, France, that provides art therapy to women in need. Located on the site of the historic Saint-Paul-de-Mausole, where Vincent Van Gogh made some of his most famous paintings, the clinic has presented a number of exhibitions on-site and at SVA exploring creativity as a tool for healing and for bridging cultures.
“Where Is My Vote? Posters for the Green Movement In Iran” collected 150 political posters created in support of the protests in Iran that followed the country’s 2009 presidential election. The exhibition premiered at the SVA Chelsea Gallery in August of 2010 and traveled to Lesley University later that year.
