Note on Distance Education Complaint Procedures:
SVA is a participant in NC-SARA. A complete explanation of the NC-SARA complaint procedures can be found here. SARA policies do not cover complaints related to grades or student conduct violations. Distance education students enrolled remotely from other SARA states outside of New York should submit any complaints related to consumer protection to OLT@sva.edu. In the event that the complaint is not satisfactorily resolved by the institution, the student should then contact NYSED, SVA’s home state portal entity, whose complaint procedures can be found here. Students may appeal the institution’s decision to the SARA State Portal Entity in New York State within two years of the incident about which the complaint is made. SVA is committed to working with its home state SARA portal entity to resolve any complaints arising in SARA states, and to abide by the decisions of that entity regarding resolution of such complaints.
