“Barkitecture” Holiday Art Installations by SVA 3D Design Students NOW ON VIEW through Tuesday, January 3, 2023

Madison Avenue between East 61st and 77th streets, New York City

December 12, 2022

Now on view as part of the holiday season, "Barkitecture” is a new series of holiday decor installations on Madison Avenue created by students from the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in partnership with the Madison Avenue B.I.D. Fourteen undergraduate students from SVA’s BFA Design: 3D Design program created their thematic takes on the classic dog house structure with found objects and rich imagination under the direction of artist, 3D designer, and program Chair Kevin T. O’Callaghan. Each student’s piece is illuminated within an eight-foot Lucite case and features whimsical dog photos placed along the base. The sixth collaboration between SVA and the Madison Avenue B.I.D., the works can be found along Madison Avenue between East 61st and East 77 streets through Tuesday, January 3, 2023. "Barkitecture" complements the 80 street trees illuminated by the B.I.D. and the joyous holiday displays within storefronts throughout the district.
