December 2018, New York, NY—School of Visual Arts (SVA) Galleries is pleased to present seven artists at Untitled, San Francisco (Booth A-22), taking place January 18 – 20, 2019, at Pier 35, San Francisco. This will be the College’s debut presentation at the curated fair aiming to highlight the work of emerging and mid-career artists from a diverse roster of international galleries.
“Exhibiting artists at Untitled, San Francisco honors SVA’s commitment to supporting its artists beyond the classroom,” says booth curator and SVA External Relations project manager Dan Halm. “Being included among the high caliber of Untitled’s acclaimed programming and introduced to participants, curators and fair goers from all over the globe, offers a level of visibility that our artists will benefit from far beyond our inaugural presentation and throughout their careers.”
The featured artists, all members of the class of 2018, include Zachary Boozer (MFA Photography and Video), Max Brownsberger (BFA Photography and Video), Johnnie Chatman (MFA Photography and Video), Sam Eisenberg (BFA Photography and Video), Honey Forestier (BFA Fine Arts), Alicia Smith (MFA Fine Arts) and Roberto Vega (MFA Fine Arts). These artists-to-watch work in a range of mediums including photography, sculpture and painting to explore identity, the altered perceptions of observed realities and themes that reflect the power of nature, beauty and transformation of the ordinary.
For the past 16 years, SVA Galleries has presented recent graduates at numerous art fairs throughout the country. The exposure has garnered exhibition opportunities, gallery representation and commissions for public artworks that have allowed SVA artists to advance their careers.
