This course offers an introduction to the skill sets needed to understand and execute the fundamental formulas of perspective. These formulas apply to nearly all items that are commonly drawn by illustrators and cartoonists. The techniques range from simple concepts to advanced formulas. One-, two-, and three-point perspectives will be covered, allowing students to place items and figures credibly in realistic, three-dimensional environments. We will also explore compound forms such as houses, vehicles, interiors and exteriors, inclined planes (ramps/steps), placing of equidistant objects (fences, windows, buildings) and non-parallel forms, as well as station point, field of vision, environmental scale, reflections, shadows and shading.
Note: All students with an active registration in this course will be given free access to the Adobe Creative Cloud. This course is fully online and offered through synchronous sessions during the listed course hours.
