Using Pro Tools software, students in this course will develop a comprehensive understanding of how to effectively use sound to enhance the cinematic experience. It will address all aspects of a basic Pro Tools project, from initial setup to final mixdown. The course will provide a foundation in mixing techniques for both music and film, leading to a post-sound mix. Through hands-on practice and by learning critical listening, students will gain the skills necessary to identify and analyze audio issues, and make informed decisions on improving balance and clarity. Audio projects will be provided; students are welcome to bring their own audio project to work on.
Note: Lab time is included in the instructional hours; additional lab time is not available. This course is held on campus at SVA.
