This course is designed for the beginner to intermediate painting student. Through class sessions and home assignments students will learn how to compose a painting from both the clothed and the nude model. Painting from the live model is a form of meditation that encourages the student to slow down, to observe, and then translate what we see. Weekly discussions and demonstrations will cover techniques such as shadow, reflected lighting, color and hue. When combining all these elements, students will bolster their ability to create and depict oil paintings on their own.
