Ed Woodham,
Visual and performance artist
Conceptual art is an idea or concept that exists independently from an object. Historically, conceptual art is associated with challenging painting and sculpture as the predominant art forms, and developing the non-commodification practices of eco-art, performance art, video art, new media, community art, art/sci collaboration and intermedia. During this course, participants will conceptualize, develop, create and share simple, accessible, original works that combine methods from a variety of creative techniques: observation, critical thinking, problem-solving, writing, performance, installation and video. This course is a wonderful opportunity to experiment with your imagination, to collaborate with others and to understand how ideas are materialized. All are welcome; no prior knowledge of art making is required.
Note: This course is fully online and offered through synchronous sessions during the listed course hours.
