Are you obsessed with your pet? This course will explore the world of pet photography, catering to beginners and photo enthusiasts alike using your camera of choice, including phone cameras. Starting with a primer on camera functions and photographic principles, participants will learn the essentials (from exposure and aperture settings to composition and framing), all applied to pet and animal photography. Once equipped with the fundamentals, we will delve into techniques for capturing special moments. Home assignments reinforce demonstrations, and will be reviewed in class. Editing your images and building a pet photography portfolio, as well as leveraging social media and online platforms to showcase work will be addressed.
NOTE: Sessions take place on campus at SVA and at the instructor's studio. Please bring three to five digital or print samples of your work to the first session.
