Art for Kids
Enrichment for Future Emerging Artists

The School of Visual Arts Art for Kids Program provides quality and affordable art instruction to children in grades K to 9. These classes will enrich your student’s experience of art while exploring a wide variety of materials. Classes maintain a teacher–student ratio of one to fifteen and are taught by state-certified SVA art educators who are also, professional artists.

    Foundations in Art

    (Grades K-2)

    Saturday, Feb. 1 - Apr. 12 (No class Mar. 8)

    AEC-1014-A: 10:00 -11:30am 

    Children are encouraged to express themselves, emphasizing creativity and experimentation through age-appropriate projects, themes and skills. A variety of materials and techniques will be explored, including watercolor, tempera, mixed media, clay, cray-pas, as well as methods in printmaking.

    NOTE: All materials are included in the course tuition.

How to Register

To register, please complete the Art for Kids Registration Request form by clicking the button below. You will receive an email response when the registration has been processed, along with a link to remit payment. Enrollment in a 10-session course is $250.


Space is limited and registration takes place on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Program Policies

Children are expected to be punctual each day and will not be admitted into a class if they arrive late. Those enrolling in AEC–1014, Grades All children grades K through 5 must be accompanied by an adult to and from each class. K through 2, must be five years of age or older at the time of enrollment.
