Animators are skilled storytellers who incorporate the fundamentals of narrative and drawing with the principles of animation. This program provides pre-college students the basics of animation as they prepare for their next academic and artistic careers. During the first week, students will be immersed in both drawing and animation sessions. The remainder of the program will consist of exploring animation as a medium, animating their characters and stories, and having an opportunity to put the animation principles into practice. We will explore storytelling by combining traditional drawing and digital animation skills, as students become familiar with the production pipeline. By the end of this program, students will have gained the tools to create a diverse portfolio.
