Game Cinematics

July 7 - 25 | 3 Undergraduate Studio Credits
Faculty
To be announced
Video Games introduce us to worlds and stories that evoke many emotions through both gameplay and the narrative videos that support the stories, known as game cinematics. These cinematics are created through real-time animation production that allows artists to see their visions come to life quickly. In this course, students will employ existing assets while developing the skills necessary to create their own 3D animated film from concept to final pixel. We will explore Unreal Engine's robust systems for lighting, material development, landscape creation, and cinematic tools that allow artists to quickly block out their ideas, organize camera shots, and introduce animation to realize their cinematic vision. Students will also be introduced to Autodesk Maya, the industry standard for 3D modeling and animation production, to create their own custom models for sets and props, which can be brought into Unreal Engine for inclusion in their projects.
Note: Pre-College courses may include the use of nude models. Course curriculum and faculty are subject to change.
