Where are you working now, and how did you get the job?

I am working at Facebook in London. A classmate of mine was already working at Facebook and she put me in touch with a recruiter for the team.

What’s been the biggest adjustment to working life?

At school, most often you are the only one responsible for your project, which gives you the freedom to dream up any idea without limitations. In the work world, you need to be able to present and sell your vision to other stakeholders to make it come alive.

Did your interests change from when you applied to SVA to when you graduated?

During my time at SVA my interests changed a lot. I started out being focused on traditional print advertising. But then I got more interested in digital campaigns and the possibilities of integrating product design into the advertising process. Thanks to all the different classes at SVA, I was able to train my skills in each of these creative fields. The advertising and graphic design program encourages you to take multiple concentrations (like advertising as well as interactive design) to prepare you for ever-changing job requirements.
