As noted in an earlier post on SVA’s DEI blog, June is Pride Month—a time to celebrate, honor and renew the continued fight for the freedom of identity and expression of those in the LGBTQIA+ communities.

On Tuesday, August 3, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at SVA debuted the third episode in its Diversity in 3D podcast series, titled “A Pride Month Reflection.”

In this episode, Dr. Jarvis Watson, director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at SVA, spoke with BFA Animation student Daniel DuBoulay and BFA Design student Elena Kim, co-presidents of the LBGTQ SVA student organization. The three discuss the significance of Pride Month, the importance of finding and contributing to a supportive peer group, better representation in media and much more (Also, Duboulay and Kim selected some queer-friendly Instagram accounts for a Pride Month feature on sva.edu in June; see their choices here.)
