With the heat of summer officially approaching, there is no better time to continue staying inside and keeping cool with SVA’s many virtual events and exhibitions.

A handful of shows have carried over through this month, including the juried exhibition of student work “Around the Fire,” on view through Monday, July 6; MAT Art Education students’ “Pillars of Resilience,” on view through Friday, July 31; and the thesis exhibition from MFA Photography, Video and Related Media's 2020 graduates, recently extended through Saturday, August 1. The latter is curated by Nat Trotman, curator of Performance and Media at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City, and reflects on issues of intimacy and isolation, fantasy and reality, sanctuary and displacement in the midst of a widespread upheaval. The corresponding virtual screening event, which was recorded, can be viewed on YouTube.
