Director: Yijia Zeng (SocDoc Thesis Production Grant)
A Chinese student is stuck in the United States because of COVID-19, facing hate crimes and political pressure. By chance, she finds letters written by the first group of Chinese students to come to the U.S. in the 1870s. Through these letters, she digs into their story, and the ways their situation is similar to her present.
