School of Visual Arts (SVA) Student Health and Counseling Services present “Better Together. Resilient Together,” the annual HOPE Art Competition exhibition of posters created by SVA students. For this year’s theme, students were invited to submit artwork representing the idea of asking for help as a sign of strength, supporting one another as a strong community and encouraging students to use their resources. “Better Together. Resilient Together” offers an opportunity for the SVA community to reflect upon what it means to connect, value, appreciate and support one another, and how that can have a positive impact on health, happiness and wellbeing.
The works by 12 finalists selected from nearly 50 submissions will be on view at the SVA Flatiron Gallery Windows from Friday, February 16, through Wednesday, February 21, 2024. At a reception on Friday, February 16, from 3:30 to 5:00pm, the Grand Prize Winner and Fan Favorite Prize will be announced. The reception is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served. Featured artists include Michael Fried (Sophomore, BFA Fine Arts), Alex Kraus (Freshman, BFA Illustration), Ji Young Kim (Sophomore, BFA Illustration), Jiwon Chun (Sophomore, BFA Animation), Gina Lew (Junior, BFA Illustration), Elle Liu (Junior, BFA Illustration) and more.
