Come Together, Fall Apart

SVA Flatiron Project Space
133/141 West 21st Street, ground floor, New York, NY 10011BFA Visual & Critical Studies presents “Come Together, Fall Apart,” an exhibition of performances curated by Anthony O’Donnell and Lizzie Scott.
The series will feature a video installation throughout the day on Wednesday, April 23, and a different program of performances each night from 6:00 – 8:00pm on Thursday, April 24, and Friday, April 25, at the Flatiron Project Space, 133 West 21 Street, New York, NY.
How can we express the relationships we forge with the world around us? The artists of “Come Together, Fall Apart” pose answers to this question—they explore relationships between people, between cultures, between objects, between sounds, and between time and space. In contributing their presence, members of the audience will form their own relationships with the work—sometimes as active players in sing-alongs or projects, sometimes as sympathetic witnesses and sometimes as implicated voyeurs.
These artists commit to experimentation and the contingency of working in real time. Each showing is completely unique. The only time to experience these works is now.
“Come Together, Fall Apart” includes works by students Celian Bermudez Ayuso, Melissa (Yunqi) Gao, Ekaterina Gladkaia, Sydney Hart, Anthony O’Donnell, Paola Pomarico, and Mars Rodriguez, as well as Skyler Gong (BFA Graphic Design 2024).
The Flatiron Project Space, created and founded by the BFA Visual and Critical Studies department, is located on the ground floor of 133 West 21 Street. The gallery invites VCS students and guest curators, along with other departments at SVA, to realize curatorial projects that highlight our rapidly expanding visual culture. Shows are held monthly and include video, performance, painting and sculptural projects.
The gallery is open Monday through Sunday, 9:00am - 6:00pm. It is fully accessible by wheelchair.
