MA Curatorial Practice presents Fatima Bintou Rassoul SY, curator of programs at RAW Material Company.

At RAW Material Company, Bintou Rassoul SY has co-curated “Le Spectre des Ancêtres en Devenir” by Tuan Andrew Nguyen (2022), “L’École des Mutants” by Hamedine Kane and Stéphane Verlet-Bottéro (2021), “”D’une rive à l’autre” by Ibrahima Thiam (2020) and co-directed the following discursive programs: Convocations: Sex Ecologies at Kunsthall Trondheim with The Seed Box (2021) and Bivouac #2: Breathing Out of School, RAW Academy at Bétonsalon (2020). Her writing has been published in books and journals, including Oh! AfricArt: 52 Contemporary African Artists (2021), Something We Africans Got 10, and SWAG high profiles 2 and 3. She has worked for years in the field of hospitality and cultural mediation at institutions such as the Musée du Louvre, the Musée Rodin, the Grand Palais and the Fondation Louis Vuitton. Her research focuses on the cultural policies of Senegal from the 1960s to today, along with the market dynamics that act on the contemporary art scene of the African continent and its diaspora. She is a graduate of the master’s program in exhibition sciences and Techniques at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. She lives and works in Dakar, Senegal.
