Artist and MFA Art Practice and MFA Fine Arts faculty member Dara Birnbaum talks about her work. Presented by MFA Fine Arts.

Birnbaum’s art has been shown at such institutions as the Metropolitan Museum of Art; The Museum of Modern Art, New York; Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid; Tate Modern, London; the Whitney Museum of American Art; Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna; and S.M.A.K., Ghent. Her awards and honors include the 1991 TV Picture Prize, given at the International Festival of Video and Electronic Arts in Locarno, Switzerland; the 1988 Certificate in Recognition of Service and Contribution to the Arts, given by Harvard University; and the American Film Institute's Maya Deren Award for Independent Film and Video Artists, which she received in 1987.
