MFA Fine Arts presents a talk by artist Wong Kit Yi.

Wong Kit Yi's artistic interest has long centered on odd scientific findings and the dysfunctional marriage between science and pseudoscience. Recently, she has focused on basic units—cells, digital bits, genes, microseconds—and the systems in which time, space and information are organized. Her latest research concerns include genetics, DNA technology, mythology, Japanese manga, models of ownership/leasing and the biology of aging and immortality. Born in Hong Kong and now based in New York, Wong received her MFA in sculpture from Yale University in 2012. She seeks biological answers to metaphysical questions.

Wong's solo shows include "Magic Wands, Batons and DNA Splicers," Art Basel Hong Kong (2018), and "Futures, Again," P!, New York (2017). Her works have been included in group projects at Surplus Space, Wuhan, China; the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art, Riga; Para Site, Hong Kong; and the Queens Museum, New York. Reviews have appeared in such publications as The New York Times, Art in America, Contemporary Art Daily, e-flux conversations, ArtReview, ARTnews, Asian Art News, The Art Newspaper, ArtAsiaPacific, China Daily, LEAP and Modern Painters.
