How can we use our cultural experiences and language systems to share personal narratives? What strategies can we leverage to develop anti-oppressive practices? Where may we draw lines of connection through the various communities that have constructed our identities? Which histories are we a part of, and how can we deconstruct them? We will explore these and other questions in a lively conversation about language and art in the 21st century.

SVA Continuing Education’s (SVACE) Global Arts courses center language and culture in creative practice, aiming for equitable interrelating and exchange of strategies and resources across borders. As a global community, SVACE invites artists, designers and cultural producers to share and create their unique languages. Spend an evening with SVACE faculty, learn about their creative and professional practices and get inspired with ways to explore your own art and design practice through transcultural, translingual methods and materials.
