MFA Fine Arts presents “How Do You Like Your Love,” an exhibition featuring work by six queer SVA alumni and faculty members. The exhibition takes its name and inspiration from the 1984 dance song by Sylvester:
“You look like a boy
Dressed like a girl
Riding a limousine
Life is for love
Love is to give
I wanna be what you need”
The works in the exhibition explore the intersections of queerness, gender and race through performance, joy, celebration and a little heartbreak. Artists in this exhibition include Jay Michelle Elizondo (MFA 2020 Fine Arts), Nadine Faraj (MFA 2015 Fine Arts), faculty member E. Jane, James Jaxxa (MFA 2023 Fine Arts), faculty member Baseera Khan and Zac Thompson (MFA 2019 Fine Arts). The exhibition is curated by faculty member Nelson Santos and MFA Fine Arts Program Coordinator Isabelle Schipper.
