School of Visual Arts presents “lost & found,” a collaboration between MPS Art Therapy students, the people they work with at their internships, various institutions throughout New York City and the general public. Curated by Liz DelliCarpini, MPS Art Therapy internship coordinator and faculty member, the exhibition will be on view from Saturday, February 9, 2019 through Saturday, March 2, at the SVA Flatiron Gallery, 133/141 West 21st Street, New York City.

“lost & found” seeks to find what we have collectively lost in our society and, in doing so, create restorative relational experiences. Public involvement is viewed as a key aspect of community-based art therapy practice: offering people opportunities for contribution, recognition and support within the larger society. The therapeutic goals of “lost & found” are to bring diverse people together in ways that acknowledge and respect our differences.

MPS Art Therapy at SVA equips students with a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach, integrating the experiential components of art therapy within a framework of academic theory and clinical application via an internship program and art practice. Fundamental to the program is the concept that the art therapist and client work together and thus can affect each other’s growth.

Free and open to the public
