Resemblance In Resilience
Karis OhDeveloping resilience within a person is often a gradual and arduous process, although it may seem automatic or effortless at times. Nature's ability to recover is a representation of the potential of human resilience. “Resemblance in Resilience” is a reminder for viewers to pause and reflect on the scenes that often go unnoticed but exemplify a tremendous amount of strength everyday.
This work was inspired by lenticular technique which creates an illusion of flip (animation) by interlacing two images. The technique was utilized to present two paintings as one combined piece. The alternating small strips achieve a seamless overlap, subtly suggesting the resemblance between the everyday nature and ourselves.
