Becca Guzzo’s beguiling, absurd sculptures shed light on the tragedy of exotic animal tourism and the problematic desire for humans to dominate and exploit animals. Her work purposely mimics and even pushes further the glare, color and noise of social media posts around the topic, to bring awareness into the concrete space of a gallery.
