MA Design Research, Writing and Criticism presents a book sale with Monacelli Press, featuring discounts on architecture, material culture and design titles from the their catalog.

Afterwards, attend a live reading of excerpts from A Critical Reader for Critical Times, a collection of texts that members of the SVA community have found particularly resonant, comforting or empowering during this moment of uncertainty around the globe. These selections might come from philosophy, literature, criticism, science fiction or they might be something written by the contributor. The reading will take place from 6:00  7:30pm, and refreshments will be served.

MA Design Research also welcomes you to contribute your own excerpts for A Critical Reader for Critical Times. Submissions are wide open and do not have to be design-oriented. To sign-up, email your proposed text/excerpt to designresearch@sva.edu. The department will be contacting all interested contributors with more project details.

In the coming weeks, the department will share this body of work publicly via its website, with a couple of sentences of intro from the contributor. Later, if there is sufficient interest, the department may publish a print edition.
