Join us for an evening spotlighting two dynamic new publications: The Thing Magazine and The Whitney Review.
Nina Sieverding and Anton Rahlwes will share the story behind their work as publishers, curators, and journalists. From leading form—Germany’s oldest printed design magazine—to launching The Thing Magazine, an independent digital platform for critical journalism on design, trends, and aesthetics, they will discuss their approach to accessible, critical storytelling. They’ll also reflect on the realities of maintaining independence in today’s interconnected media landscape, and introduce their latest project: The Thing Gallery.
Whitney Mallett, founder and editor of The Whitney Review of New Writing, will introduce her biannual print journal focused on contemporary literary criticism and share her approach to creating a new platform for critical writing.
The evening will conclude with a Q&A moderated by Eric Schwartau, followed by a reception in our department.
