Due to inclement weather, this event, originally scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, has been rescheduled to take place Saturday, January 31 at 3:00pm.


A talk by artist and SVA faculty member Johan Grimonprez (MFA 1992 Fine Arts), presented in conjunction with his solo exhibition “It’s a poor sort of memory that only works backwards,” on view at the SVA Chelsea Gallery January 17 through 31. Grimonprez has created curatorial projects that have been exhibited at such museums as the Hammer Museum (Los Angeles) The Museum of Modern Art (New York City) and the Pinakothek der Moderne (Munich), and his works are included in the permanent collections of museums such as the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art (Kanazawa, Japan), Centre Georges Pompidou and the Tate Modern. His award-winning films include dial H-I-S-T-O-R-Y (1997) and Double Take (2009). Presented by MFA Fine Arts.
