For My Girls explores how 1990s female hip-hop performers inspired the artist to be proud of her lineage, unapologetic for her liberated behavior and forceful in her approach to the culture at large. Made with studio portraits of young black women and then enhanced with bold strokes of paint these one-of-a-kind images inspire women to be proud, bold and forceful.
