MFA Products of Design presents “Design for Strategic Differentiation,” a talk with Todd Bracher. In this talk, Bracher will draw upon his new book, Design in Context: A Framework for Strategic Differentiation, to explore how he has leveraged design for the companies he has worked for. Design in Context serves as a comprehensive guide that explores the transformative power of strategic design and innovation.

Working at the intersection of design, science, and business, Todd Bracher is committed to addressing matters of global concern—by leveraging an ever-growing scientific network, industrial design know-how, and branding expertise, his work delivers science-informed solutions to leave a positive impact on the manufacturing industry and the world at large.

Twenty years ago, Bracher founded Studio Bracher, an award-winning industrial design and strategy firm. Since then, he has designed innovative products and game-changing experiences for some of the world’s most iconic brands, received over a dozen patents, and brought over 200 products to market. He has twice been honored as International Designer of the Year and recognized by Wallpaper* Magazine as a Top 100 Global Design influencer. ‍

An astute observer of emerging innovations, Bracher also invests in ventures that share his commitment to making a positive change in the world. Startups that have benefited from his support include Timeshifter, MentalWorkout, and Mater. In addition, Bracher serves as an advisor for Antler, a global early-stage venture capital firm.

Known for his commitment to balancing human needs, manufacturing, and business objectives, Bracher is a sought-after speaker. He regularly delivers keynote addresses and shares his expertise with the media at home and in the many other countries where his work is widely known, including France, Italy, Germany, Denmark, and Japan.

In 2022, Bracher launched Betterlab—a collaborative effort to leverage the potential of science-based design.
