Heinz has been a design consultant in NYC for 20 years, with a client list including Nike, Google, The Gates Foundation and The New York Times, as well as many startups and grassroots organizations. She has taught interaction design at SVA, Parsons, Skillshare, Fortune 100 accelerators and other startup incubators and she has spoken on topics from counterculture to CSS.
Her new product experience design book Think in 4D is a visual handbook for product leads and designers, including more than 500 illustrations and 40 exercises to help people visualize and execute. Kirkus called it “an impressively thorough and clear introduction to a still-new discipline” and Booklife named it an editor’s pick, a “first-rate guide to designing digital products that will endure.”
At this event, Heinz will introduce the 4D thinking framework—a new checklist for thoughtful product experience design, pushing the tech industry to think beyond 2D designs and 3D experiences to 4D impacts—and show how to create products that matter through moments that matter.
