My work examines the power dynamics of dysfunctional relationships. I use food as a symbol to create narratives about the unacknowledged violence that can exist within intimate relations. I am interested in the ambivalent emotions surrounding love, in attachments shaped by the need for survival, and relationships formed around entrapment and control. In my work I aim to create environments where viewers can feel how desire, fear, care, idealization, abandonment, punishment, and love can coexist, to understand how and where such relationships begin.
