MFA Fine Arts presents a talk by the artist Uri Aran. Aran joined the MFA Fine Arts faculty in 2024.
Uri Aran (American, b. 1977, Jerusalem) lives and works in New York, and studied design at the Cooper Union New York (2003) and Bezalel Academy Jerusalem (2004), before graduating with an MFA in visual arts from Columbia University, New York (2007). Aran has exhibited internationally with solo exhibitions including “Zero Point Everything,” Sadie Coles HQ, London (2024); “Take This Dog for Example,” The Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin (2023);“ I’m a Restaurant,” Andrew Kreps, New York NY, USA (2023); “House,” Gavin Brown’s enterprise, New York NY, USA (2020); “Tenants Like These,” Sadie Coles HQ, London (2019); “Mice,” Koelnischer Kunstverein, Cologne (2016); and “here, here and here,” Kunsthalle Zürich (2013). Aran additionally participated in the 2014 Whitney Biennial, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (2014), “A Needle Walks into a Haystack”, Liverpool Biennial (2014), Liverpool, and “The Encyclopedic Palace,” 55th International Art Exhibition, Venice Biennale, Venice (2013). Talks is a series of lectures by artists, writers and critics presented by MFA Fine Arts. Talks are held on Tuesdays at 3:00pm at 133 West 21st Street in Room 101C and on Zoom. Participation in the Q&A is limited to MFA Fine Arts students attending the lecture in person.
