In this complementary, virtual drawing session, longtime SVA faculty member Peter Hristoff (BFA 1981 Fine Arts) will use working from memory, imagination and word association to create 30 fast, loose drawings. Participants will tap into surrealism, popular culture and current events—the zeitgeist—to draw in a spontaneous, free way, letting go in order to grow.

All drawings are based on prompts given by the instructor and are timed. Participants will need 30 sheets of paper (11x14" or larger), black ink, watercolor or bamboo brushes, three cups (for water and ink), paper towels or absorbent rags for blotting. If these supplies are difficult to obtain, feel free to substitute with anything that allows you to draw boldly. Open to all levels.

This event will be held online via Zoom. Registered guests will receive Zoom access details 24 hours prior to the start of the event. RSVP here.
