Watch visual biographer, filmmaker and SVA staff member Benita Raphan's (BFA 1984 Media Arts) Up to Astonishment, a film about Emily Dickinson that uses the form of a cinematic diary to examine Dickinson's eccentric and brilliant inner life. This project was supported by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and was shared by the Emily Dickinson Museum on Instagram. Raphan is a MacDowell Fellow and last year was awarded a 2019 Guggenheim Fellowship. Click here to watch the film.
