Voting booth designs by BFA Interior Design: Built Environments students Kayla Nestor (left) and Yearin Park (right) for program chair Dr. Carol Bentel’s Studio Design III class. The purpose of the voting booth project was to test if design can change behavior. The project lasted three weeks and included studying the U.S. voting system from the past to today, as well as analyzing the intent of colors and graphics in the varied voting examples from years past. The class was hoping to be able to build booth prototypes and test behavior before the 2020 election, but for now they remain digital concepts. They are hopeful that they will be able to run the behavioral voting test in the future. Information and image via Dr. Carol Bentel.
