Five films by MFA Social Documentary Film faculty and alumni won Emmys this year, including Hostages for Outstanding Historical Documentary, directed by Chair Maro Chermayeff and faculty member Sam Pollard, with faculty member Saralena Weinfield as series producer, faculty member Amy Schewel as archival producer, and work by alumni Jabu Ndlovu (2022) as post-production coordinator and David Osit (2011) as editor; How to Survive a Pandemic for Outstanding Science and Documentary Documentary, edited by Adam Evans (2020), produced by faculty member Mira Chang with faculty member Micah Fink field producing, and with work by archival assistant Jamie Deredorian Delia (2020); The Fire That Took Her for Outstanding Crime and Justice Documentary, which features cinematography by faculty member Tom Hurwitz; Lowndes County and the Road to Black Power for Outstanding Research, directed by faculty member Sam Pollard; and The Janes, which earned four awards, with sound by faculty Mark Mandler.
