
"Premium Mediocre" uses the language of fashion photography to explore the way young people use luxury goods to create fanciful, glamorous profiles on social media. By combining props and styling that suggest acquisitiveness and conspicuous consumption, it uses humor and hyperbole to satirize the wish of many younger people—promoted by social media—to create a falsely glamorous narrative about their lives.
