Esther Yijun Xu, utilizes data and coding as sources for speculative narratives and incorporates these into books, films, wall text and in new media genres such as VR. Continual translation of code and data into other linguistic characters in both English and Mandarin, her dramatic plays deal with moments of misunderstanding and alienation.
