Take charge of your creative future! Join SVA’s MFA Social Documentary Film program and get on the fast track to a non-fiction filmmaking career.


Applications for the fall 2024 cohort are now open. Apply by Monday, January 15, to be eligible for merit-based department scholarships of up to $25,000 per year.


Attend this application info session and have your questions about portfolio requirements and application process answered. You can also meet department Chair Maro Chermayeff and faculty, and hear more about how the production-focused program encourages filmmakers to develop their own artistic voice and graduate with a broader understanding of working in documentary.


Attendees will receive an $80 application fee waiver if they apply for fall 2024 admission. Note: This waiver will be applied to the email address used to register for this event. It is important to use the same email address consistently throughout the entire application process.
