Amidst the bustling streets of New York, food carts stand as ubiquitous presences, offering solace and warmth in the quiet corners of early mornings and late nights. They are akin to solitary islands, adrift in the vast sea of the city, tethered to a myriad of people of all shapes and sizes and the countless stories they carry.
Through the exploration of photographer Yiling Lu, the mystery shrouding these inner sanctums is unveiled. Using a 360-degree camera, artist and subject have captured collaborative, environmental portraits that show interior views that many have never been exposed to. The result: whimsical, gravity-defying imagery that provides a new way to view these staples of the city.
