My series centers around the idea that creation is also a form of destruction. I focus on some major turning points in history, and how in order for us to create a peaceful and harmonious future, we must be aware of our dark past. My intention is not to glorify any of these people or events, but instead to raise awareness of our history and the lessons we must learn. In these pieces, there is a fire that symbolizes destruction. The fire is what creates evil and also destroys it. Yet it is also setting the stage for a hopeful era of humanity. We must be aware of our past, while we work to make a peaceful present for our future generations.
