"Evening With" guest, historian, and renowned letterpress printmaker Amos Paul Kennedy, Jr. shares his outlook on creating artistic work in today's political climate.
After sharing an intelligent conversation with Eric Baker and answering several thought-provoking questions from the audience, attendees could purchase Amos' book "Citizen Printer" and have it signed! This book includes hundreds of Amos' prints and a foreword by Austin Kleon, which was put together and designed by our very own BFA Design and BFA Advertising Chair, Gail Anderson, and faculty member, Joe Newton.
On top of the "Evening With" event, a letterpress printmaking workshop took place earlier in the day. Some lucky students and faculty spent a morning with Amos in SVA’s Printshop letterpress studio. Everyone contributed a word or phrase to craft a powerful message of togetherness, each leaving with a layered, vibrant print of their own.
