A spread from Letterpress Archive's new book about Kennedy, Citizen Printer
Kennedy in his letterpress printshop, Kennedy Prints!
Join BFA Advertising and BFA Design on Wednesday, January 22, at 7:00 pm for the first Evening With event of 2025 featuring the subject of Letterform Archive's new book, Citizen Printer, and trailblazing contemporary Black artist, Amos Paul Kennedy, Jr.!
In conversation with BFA Design faculty Eric Baker and with emphasis on audience questions, Kennedy will share tales from his joyous career as a rogue letterpress printer using type-driven messages to issue fearless statements on race, capitalism, history, and politics and to spotlight how designers and artists can use their craft to advocate for positive social change.
Dubbed the "people's printer,” Amos is generous with his work and promises to bring letterpress prints for some lucky guests! Citizen Printer will also be available for purchase after the event for those who would like to see more and support Kennedy's work.

Amos Paul Kennedy, Jr. is internationally recognized for his type-driven messages of social justice and Black power, emblazoned in boldly inked prints made for the masses. His work has been exhibited in dozens of museums nationwide.
